Chasing Dragons

Today i went to druridge in the hope of a common darter. In the last couple of years i have arrived just after the emergence of a host of darters and the hum of the wings , when i approached and disturbed them. will live long in my memory.
But today i had a 'buses' moment. I have not seen a four spot chaser in Northumberland, until today. When walking along the path at dru, after the hides, i heard the familiar clatter of a dragons wings. With six 4 spots in view and a total of ten in view at once.
I then went to the community woodland with the hope of picking up chasers there. i have seen quite a few dragons here, mainly darters, but often bigger ones in the tree tops, i can't identify sillouttes. But the farm pond was alive with them. Some egg laying.
There were many damsels egg laying, tandem and wheels, including the reds above.
Other firsts for the woodland, butterfly wise, ringlet and woodland brown(12).

The above damsel was at Banks pond (any ideas very fresh) with a supporting cast of 'thousands' with the 15+ buses (4 spot) and a single emperor patrolling the small pond
The last picture is the first i took today, of a dragon at least, i also had cinnabar, silver y and a host of carpet moths

You seem to have had a Dragon fest today, I only had two Emperors before it went dull, that damsel is certainly freshly emerged, Azure would be my guess ?.
nice one

Beautiful photos. You sure caught a lot of action today with the newly emerged, the mating pairs, and such fresh, perfect specimens.
cheers,
